This week Meir Cohen, Israeli Minister of Welfare, visited our shelter Friendship House/Galgal in Jerusalem. The shelter serves young women experiencing homelessness and operates in collaboration with the Ministry, Jerusalem municipality and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
The young women at our shelter shared their courageous yet difficult stories with the Minister. Minister Cohen assured them that he will continue working on issues regarding social security and benefits they are entitled to. He was also interested in arranging follow-up meetings to address the young women’s concerns.
