We are happy to share that in 2022 ELEM joined as a partner of a new, innovative Housing First program for young people engaged in prostitution. The partnership, which is in its early stages, is a collaboration between private, government and municipal agencies, philanthropic foundations, and private companies.
Housing First programs provide housing assistance to those experiencing homelessness, to enable them to handle other distress and achieve a better quality of life. Instead of moving people between different types of housing solutions, it provides them with a more stable accommodation.
Our organizations already runs shelters such as newly renovated Galgal in Jerusalem and aids those engaged in prostitution. These services provide crucial assistance to those in need. Yet, we are happy to continue and expand the types of services we offer to help youth and and young people experiencing homelessness or engage in prostitution through innovative programs.
