Sexual Abuse Services

ELEM’s Sexual Abuse Services provide a critical lifeline for children, teens, and young adults who have experienced sexual trauma, exploitation, or harassment. Recognizing that the journey to recovery is deeply personal and often fraught with silence, our programs offer a safe, confidential environment where survivors can find the specialized care they need to begin healing.

These services address a wide spectrum of trauma, from online solicitation and peer-on-peer harassment to long-term abuse and sexual exploitation. Because trauma does not happen in a vacuum, ELEM’s professionals work holistically, providing not only direct clinical intervention for the survivors but also guidance for families and educational outreach to prevent future harm.

Our specialized centers, such as our HaLev programs, are staffed by experts trained in trauma-informed care. By removing the barriers of shame and stigma, ELEM ensures that young survivors—many of whom have felt invisible—are provided with a pathway toward reclaiming their lives and their sense of self-worth.

A Sanctuary for Healing

Our services are open to youth and young adults from every sector of Israeli society, ensuring that survivors from marginalized communities—who may face additional cultural barriers to reporting abuse—receive culturally sensitive and language-appropriate support.

WHAT HAPPENS AT SEXUAL ABUSE SERVICES

ELEM’s sexual abuse programs prioritize the physical and emotional safety of the individual while providing a range of professional interventions, including:

  • ELEM-Sm

Individual and Group Therapy: Tailored clinical support to help survivors process trauma and build coping mechanisms.

  • ELEM-Sm

Crisis Intervention: Immediate support for youth in acute distress or those currently in high-risk situations.

  • ELEM-Sm

HaLev Centers: Specialized hubs for youth who have experienced sexual exploitation or are involved in the cycle of prostitution.

  • ELEM-Sm

Advocacy and Legal Support: Guidance through the reporting and legal process to ensure the survivor's rights are protected.

  • ELEM-Sm

Family Counseling: Supporting parents and siblings to create a stable, informed home environment for the survivor.

The primary goal is to provide a "warm home" atmosphere where the power dynamic is shifted back to the survivor. Through a combination of clinical excellence and radical empathy, we help youth move from victims to survivors.

Reaching the Margins of Israeli Society

Sexual violence transcends all borders, yet access to help is often limited by geography or social taboos. ELEM actively works to bridge this gap by placing services in peripheral cities and within specialized communities, including the Arab, Haredi, and LGBTQIA+ sectors.

By understanding the unique cultural nuances of these groups, we are able to provide "quiet" entry points for those who might otherwise never seek help due to fear of community repercussions or social exclusion.
