We are so excited to share with you ELEM’s spring event!
We had two, very special visitors from Israel. The first guest was Maya, the Head of the Extreme Risk Field at ELEM. This department serves youth at homeless youth, youth in prostitution, and more. The second guest was Yael, a very brave graduate of our program – A Real Home, for young women who’ve been sexually abused in their childhood. Yael opened her heart and soul, let herself be vulnerable, and shared her story of abuse all throughout the week.
It was hard at times, but for five days she woke up every morning and chose to share. She moved many so many including the moderator of our spring event, Newsweek’s Batya Ungar-Sargon, chef Einat Edmony, members of the Israeli Permanent Mission to the U.N., friends from the Rodeph Sholom community, a captivated audience at Oppenheimer, our Founder and Chair – Ann Bialkin, and more.
But don’t worry, we also made sure our guests had some fun in between emotionally challenging engagements! Oh, and we also celebrated Yael’s birthday!
Yael, Maya, we were truly honored to have you with us in ELEM’s spring event, and you made an impact on so many people along the way. By doing the work you do, and sharing the experiences you share, you help change lives.
Can’t wait to see you again both in New York and in Israel!
