This past weekend was especially hard. We’re grateful that all of the hostages from Beth Israel are safe and sound, especially since today is a holiday, and Jewish holidays are always about overcoming, and being stronger together, as a community.
We’ve long found a special connection between ELEM, and what Tu BiShvat (or “Birthday for the Trees) is.
This holiday, dedicated to nature, growth, flourishing, and in the last few years sustainability, has a lot in common with our work.
We’ve asked our lovely intern, Emily, to talk a little bit about her trip to Israel to plant trees, and what ELEM means to her.
