Join American Friends of ELEM, in partnership with the ELEM Florida Chapter, for an important and timely conversation on the growing mental health challenges facing today's youth. Across the United States, Israel, and around the world, young people are facing unprecedented pressures. Rising rates of anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional isolation, substance use, online exploitation, and the overwhelming influence of technology are reshaping adolescence in ways previous generations have never experienced. As these challenges continue to evolve, parents, educators, clinicians, and community leaders are asking an urgent question: How can we better protect, support, and empower the next generation?
For more than 40 years, ELEM has been on the front lines of youth intervention, supporting vulnerable and at-risk young people through innovative outreach, therapeutic services, crisis intervention, and long-term care. While ELEM's work is rooted in Israel, the realities facing today's youth transcend borders. The emotional struggles, digital pressures, and complex social challenges confronting adolescents are universal, making this conversation more relevant than ever.
This thought-provoking symposium will bring together leading experts in adolescent psychology, trauma, youth intervention, and mental health to explore the evolving landscape of today's youth. Together, they will discuss the impact of technology, trauma, family dynamics, social media, exploitation, substance use, and emotional well-being, while offering practical tools to recognize warning signs, strengthen resilience, foster healthy relationships, and support young people before they reach a point of crisis.
